An Interesting January

Well, I haven't managed to start the year off in the best way, I seem to have gathered quite a pile of crap news recently and had to make quite a few big, life altering decisions. However it has really made me realise, now more than ever, that if you stay positive and motivated then you can overcome anything. I feel like i'm making my way to the top of the mountain, then I have to take a big leap off the top. Its really scary but i'm also excited by the possibilities that lie ahead and am looking forward to what I can make of the year. I will let you know more when i've dealt with it all and when it has become good news.
Some great things have happened recently too, I covered another gig in Portsmouth which was Anberlin, The Getaway Plan and The Xcerts. I had the privilege of meeting 2 of the bands before, as my housemate interviewed them. The gig was amazing and I enjoyed it so much that I forgot about my legs hurting and the fact I had planned to leave as soon as I got my photos and instead, ended up staying till the end. Here are some of the photos I took that night.

I am excited to also start up an Etsy shop for all my handmade crafty goodies so I will keep you informed of that :) As well as this, I am going to give my photography a big push and get some more marketing out there to spread the word about Amy Sapphire Photography. Overall, Im handling things in the best way that I can and i'm proud of what I have already overcome in 2013. Bring on February!!!!

Week 7 in photos

It hasn't been the healthiest of weeks, a lot of it was spent ill in bed. I caught another bug and my cough still wont budge leaving me with little sleep and very painful legs. Once I started feeling better mid-week, my boyfriend caught one of the many bugs i've been carrying around, so I went from being looked after to looking after him. However, we had a lovely relaxing few days of films and tea in bed which made us both feel a lot better. I spent a lot of my ill time this week sewing and making things. I spent a few days on my boyfriend's present for his birthday which is this week. I will do a post and tutorial for it soon, I am very proud of it and it was such a fun project to work on. I also made some children's bunting for a child's party and my gift for the Bloggers Halloween Costume Swap. Was a very creative week and I really enjoyed all the projects I worked on. I've already started coming up with ideas of things to make for Christmas presents now. Will have to keep a note of them for the next time i'm feeling unwell.

Junior Photo Shoot

My dear friend and old housemate Junior is without a doubt the best male dancer I know, he has such energy and passion for dancing. We decided to do a photo shoot for his dancing but despite living together for years we didnt get round to it, anyway, after he had moved back to London he came to stay with us for a bit and we were lucky enough to have a sunny and bright day so we headed to the common to take some snaps, was such good fun and we wasted a lot of the time laughing. Photo shoot with Flick

With the recent cold weather i've been getting really excited about the impending winter. I'm looking forward to all those chilly evenings snuggled up with a blanket, hot water bottle and a glass of mulled wine. Venturing out to watch fireworks all wrapped up in wooly hats and knitted cardigans. I love winter accessories and its this time of year that I start to get really excited to dig out the old gloves, fluffy socks and ear warmers from the past year.

Because of this, I decided I wanted to do a Autumn/Winter themed shoot. My friend Flick said she wanted to model for a photo shoot, so we decided to do the winter style shoot down by the seafront where it was very windy and quite cold.
